All Azimuth Solutions is a Delaware corporation founded in 2021 as a Limited Liability Corporation by founding member James Herrera (President) to meet a specific need in a low-density, high-demand market in the new and rapidly emerging field of Advance Air Mobility (AAM). All Azimuth Solutions is a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) and certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).

  • President and Founder

    Herrera is President and Founder of All Azimuth Solutions LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), incorporated in Delaware that specializes in Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and Advance Air Mobility (AAM) sectors of the Aerospace industry.

    Jim has over 35 years of civil and military aviation experience and holds a Commercial/Instrument rating. He recently left the FAA where he was the Program Manager and Strategic Planner for the Air Traffic Organization’s Advance Air Mobility and UAM program responsible for the development of the unified ATO AAM Strategic Plan. During his time with the ATO, Mr. Herrera served as the FAA co-lead to the NASA/FAA AAM Airspace Executive Working Group, he also represented the FAA as the UAM co-lead on the joint Single Sky European Sky’s ATM Research Project (SESAR) Coordination Committee.

    Before his tenure at ATO, Jim worked in the FAA Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration Office as the UAM program manager where he wrote the initial FAA UAM Implementation Plan that became the foundation for the AAM National Campaign (NC) data collection plan. He also served as an industry liaison and coordinated 3 FAA-UAM Industry Executive Roundtables. He was the FAA SME for NASA’s UAM Coordination and Assessment Team (UCAT) and was selected to be the AAM National Campaign’s FAA Co-lead where he coordinated FAA expertise and participation and helped scope the NC test scenarios. On Jim’s initiative, he stood up and conducted an FAA internal agency UAM/AAM Information Exchange to help orientate the FAA on AAM challenges and provide a forum to share information and discuss strategic priorities.

    Jim is a combat veteran with over 20 years of service in the United States Marine Corps and served as as an Electronic Countermeasures Officer (ECMO), Strategic Nuclear Force Planner and UAS Acquisitions Officer. Jim currently serves on the National Academy of the Sciences, Engineering and Medicine as a sitting member of the Transportation Research Board (AV095) Committee for New Users of Shared Airspace.
